The people, events and everyday moments that made Bwlchgwyn

The history of Bwlchgwyn isn't only a story of mines, chapels and buildings. It's also the story of the people who lived here and the community they created.

Over the generations, village life has included Eisteddfodau and concerts, clubs and societies, celebrations and outings, sports, school events, fundraisers and countless other gatherings that brought people together.

Newspaper reports, old photographs and, most importantly, the memories of local people allow us to rediscover some of those moments, from major village occasions to the ordinary stories that might otherwise be forgotten.

We're still gathering photographs, memories and stories to build a picture of everyday life in Bwlchgwyn through the generations.
