Alfred Henry John Williams, known as Alf or Alfie, is a Bwlchgwyn resident, local history enthusiast and the driving force behind this website.

A familiar face around the village, Alf has a great affection for the village, its walks, countryside, people and, most importantly, the places where he is likely to receive attention.

He created this website to bring together useful information about the village in one place: what's on, local groups, the Village Hall, walks, village history and some of the stories that make Bwlchgwyn what it is.

When he isn't overseeing the website, Alf can usually be found exploring the footpaths and fields around Bwlchgwyn, inspecting interesting smells, unsuccessfully chasing rabbits, sleeping after a demanding morning, or keeping a close eye on activity in the kitchen. 

For Alf, the best thing about Bwlchgwyn is the people and their stories. This website is his attempt to celebrate that, somewhere for residents and visitors alike to discover a little more about this wonderful community.

Of course, Sarah isn't Alf's only friend.

Over the years, Alf has built up quite the social circle around Bwlchgwyn. Some have two legs, some have four, and some are considerably more pleased to see him than others.
